Lenten Reflection
From Walk In Her Sandals:
Hosanna! Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord! Are we willing to receive a king who comes “in ashes”? Can we receive a king who looks not like a king at all but a piece of broken bread, or a person who is poor, sick, or needy? Who is this Jesus, our King? How do we receive him?
Healing Chicken Soup
Ingredients
4 chicken thighs
2 large cans of chicken broth
2 carrots, peeled and cut up
2 stalks celery, cut up
1 parsnip, peeled and cut up
1 onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, chopped
1 turnip, peeled and cut up
1 tablespoon dried parsley
1 bay leaf
salt and pepper to taste
1 lb. bag of kluski or egg noodles, cooked
Preparation
Place all ingredients, except noodles, into a slow cooker, and cook for 4–6 hours. Take chicken out of slow cooker and remove skin and bones, then break chicken into pieces and add back into slow cooker. Shortly before serving, add cooked noodles.
If it is made with love, this soup will heal people of their colds, flu, and aches.
