Ave  Maria Press textbooks were part of the pilot process of theological review offered by the Institute on the Catechism of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops. Each textbook is in conformity with the Catechism of the Catholic Church and the USCCB Curriculum Framework.

These textbooks were developed, organized, written, and designed after extensive consultation with theologians, clinicians of education, and especially, classroom high school theology teachers—in written surveys, symposiums, and face-to-face conversations.
