Remember, You Are Loved!
Featuring Martha Fernandez-Sardina
Do you know how much you are loved even when you can’t feel it? Martha Fernandez-Sardina talks with Sarah Christmyer about why she started sharing messages of God’s love with more than 10,000 people throughout the world through her ministry, Remember You Are Loved. She offers simple, spontaneous gestures that not only speak of God’s love but also demonstrate it. Martha also tackles the difficult question of how we can be sure of God’s love even when our circumstances make us doubt or forget.
Martha Fernandez-Sardina is an international bilingual communicator and ministry consultant, speaker, writer, preacher, teacher, radio and television host, and new evangelization trainer. She is the founder and director of Prepare the Way Enterprises and Remember You Are Loved. She wrote several reflections on the love of God for the Living the Word Catholic Women’s Bible. You can reach her and learn about her ministry at MarthaFernandezSardina.org and RememberYouAreLoved.com.
Take Martha’s Favorite Scripture to Your Next Holy Hour
Pray: Come, Holy Spirit, open my heart and mind to hear your word today.
Read the Word: 1 John 4:7–12
(Read it in your own Bible to get the context, and so you can make notes.)
Beloved, let us love one another; for love is of God, and he who loves is born of God and knows God. He who does not love does not know God; for God is love. In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only-begotten Son into the world, so that we might live through him. In this is love, not that we loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the expiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No man has ever seen God; if we love one another, God abides in us and his love is perfected in us.
Ponder the Word: Read several times, lingering where it touches your heart. What catches your attention? What do you hear the Lord saying to you?
Pray with the Word: Bring to the Lord what you have heard, and talk to him about it. Ask for his grace. Thank him for his loving care.
Live the Word: How does what you read touch your life? What can you do this week to put it into practice?
